What it's like
Two 18-hole courses on chalk downland in the South Downs National Park: the Colt Course (par 71, white tees 6,557 yards) and the Vardon Course (par 66, 5,206 yards). The club has a seven-bay covered range, a six-hole par 3 course and a swing studio. The clubhouse is open daily from 8am to dark.

Why a Brighton golfer would drive here
It's about 28 minutes away. All visitors must provide a CDH number and a recognised handicap. Visitors play weekdays from 10am and Saturday and Sunday from 11am (Colt only on Sundays from 11am), booking by phone up to 6 days ahead. Fees: Colt £90 weekday and £95 weekend; Vardon £60 and £65; County Card £80 on the Colt and £47.50 on the Vardon. Juniors under 18 get 50% off.
